Construction Contractor, Real Estate Investor, and Real Estate Developer. Jim began his career as a consulting civil engineer in 1965 as the low man on a survey party and worked his way up to technician to project engineer in a 12 year period. The mental challenge of roadway, utility, and site work construction drew him to working for a medium sized highway-heavy contractor for six years, working his way from project manager to Vice President of Construction.

Lured by the challenge of being his own boss, Jim started his own construction company in 1984 and is active in business today. Jim’s niche in the construction business is constructing projects that other contractors find too challenging. His firm has constructed many Dallas – Fort Worth landmarks.

Jim has been investing in commercial real estate since 2004; when he started his own real estate investment company, Gulf Coast Capital Group, with a portfolio of 11 properties. Jim is the CEO of Preston One, LP in partnership since 2004 to develop commercial real estate in Collin County Texas. Preston One, LP developed and built a 25,000 SF office building at 7920 Preston Road in Plano Texas and sold 80% of the project within a year. The new office project, building and leasing 60,600 SF of office, at 7928 Preston Road in Plano Texas started in November 2012 with projected completion within a year.
